Celebrating our HAPPY 10th BIRTHDAY
HAPPY 10th BIRTHDAY FOR OUR RUSSIAN-SPEAKING CHURCH
What a Woderful and Glorious Sabbath, The 7th of May 2011 - it was a day of special celebration for everyone of us at the Russian-speaking Seventh-day Adventists in London. Themed, "The 10th Anniversary and Beyond" when we gloryfied and praised God for all our successful past and honoured Him for the prosperous promised future.
Opening the morning celebration, our guest of honour, Dr Susan Clark represented the hospitality of our host church, St Pauls, on Chillerton Road Furzedown, London, SW17 9BE. She spoke based on John 20:19 "Shalom! – Peace be with you!" She was one of more than 30 guests from different congregations and different nationalities. Another of these was a good church friend, Alexsandr Sibilev, an elder of the Baptist Church, and a Christian writer. He personally wrote and presented a few words of encouragement and gratitude for our church, praised God for our existing Christian relationship, and our plans for building closer Christian relationships for the future.
Pastor Michael Lutso and his wife shared the past history of the Russian-Speaking Community culminating with the pastoral prayer, "Glory be to God for the successful past!"
The Russian-Speaking Community is full of talented and amazing children and youth. They worked tirelessly in preparing for the service, preparing musical items and wonderful presentations. Their enthusiasm let us know that the church has a future!
A special message was presented by Pastor Emmanuel Osei, who with power and joy encouraged us to stay focused and never be afraid, "despite the fact that Satan, 'the devil', has always attacked the Church." "Jesus", he said, "is always protecting His Bride and will always shelter and protect us!"
The day culminated with a call for a personal decision to serve the Almighty Ruler of the universe as Pastor A Balan challenged, "Dedicate our life to Jesus today – as tomorrow does not belong to us!"
If you are enthusiastic to discover what God's Love means for us and what it could do for you - Please feel free to come and visit us!
We will be more than happy to share with you God's Love and celebrate His Grace for us bringing honour Glory to Him togever!
